Annette Bening

Annette Bening

Tim Burton's first choice; had to bow out

Born: 29 May 1958 in Topeka, Kansas, USA

A notable actress who also happens to be the wife of actor Warren Beatty, Annette Bening was director Tim Burton's first choice to play Selina Kyle/Catwoman in 1992's Batman Returns.

There was a hitch.

Ms. Bening was working on the movie Bugsy with Mr. Beatty, and their relationship became serious enough that she became pregnant with his child. While it led to the two getting married, it also resulted in her bowing out of the Batman movie as well.

Not that having a child is a bad thing. Just ask this Webmaster!

Born in Kansas, Ms. Bening moved with her family to California as a young girl. She began her acting career at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco; from there, she acted in New York. Her film career began in 1986 with a TV movie. She has gone on to motion pictures, some of them very notable.

Oh, and as for her family? By now, she and Warren Beatty have four kids!
