Stuntwoman for Julie Newmar in the 1966 Batman series
Marilyn Watson, the stuntwoman who doubled for Julie Newmar in the 1966 Batman series, died last week in California at age 90. We don’t have a lot of information about her, but she not only did the stunt work for Ms. Newmar, but also appeared in the penultimate series episode, “The Entrancing Dr. Cassandra” as the Feline Fatale. That was a strange appearance, given that African-American Eartha Kitt had played her in Season 3, and that Ms. Watson was Caucasian and considerably taller.
