We just got news tonight that The Comic Depot in Saratoga Springs, NY is closing its doors as of Wednesday, 2 October 2019. The late Darren Carrera and his ex-wife, Kristi, had started the store in Greenfield Center a little over 10 years ago. The store had flourished, as witnessed by its move first to the Wilton Mall, and then to downtown Saratoga Springs.
After Darren’s death, Jeff Watkins of the Syracuse area had purchased the store, and managed to keep it going. Circumstances have led to its planned closing. We’re sorry to see this happen, as we did the final scene of our first fan film, Batman 1969, at the store in December 2010, when it was at the Wilton Mall.
But at least we are thankful for the memories, and wish everyone connected with the store the best!
