Tonight in 1966, Catwoman finishes her fist run on the 1966 Batman series with a finale that reminds one of Molly the Mole. The Feline Fatale’s first episode is regarded by some as the very best episode of the series, and it IS a top-flight episode! One year later, Black Widow had her day in the sun, and it was Talullah Bankhead’s final-ever performance. It’s also a favorite of mine, as Ms. Bankhead was in the same age bracket as my maternal grandmother, and it was fun to see an older villain!
Monday, 14 March marked the 54th anniversary of the final episode of the 1966 series, after which it was whisked off to immediate syndication, where it has remained ever since. Three years later, though, ABC ran the 1966 movie on the Fourth of July, and it proved to be so popular that it was rerun on Labor Day weekend!
