We’re now hitting that time in August when we’re celebrating birthdays of noted comic book actors, and artists. Today, we wish our friend Billy Tucci a Happy Birthday!!! We met Billy on the comic con circuit, and he is always a delight to be with!!!
Saturday, 14 August marks Halle Berry’s go-around the sun as well as the 17th anniversary of the launch of this web site!!!
On Sunday, 15 August, we give greetings to Jim Balent, the illustrator who gave Catwoman her legendary 1990s purple catsuit look. We haven’t had the chance to meet him yet, but hope to do so.
On Monday, the 16th, Julie Newmar, the first live-action Catwoman herself, turns 88. Born in Los Angeles, she remains a presence on Facebook. We met her in 2006 in Detroit, and that was a fun experience!
And finally, on Thursday, the 19th, Jill St. John turns 81. Her portrayal of Molly the Mole, the first femme fatale on the 1966 Batman series has inspired the creation of at least two notable characters in the Batman universe: Molly Post, who guested in Batman comics in 1972 and again in 1975; and Carrie Kelley, the first notable female Robin!
