Eartha Kitt, who played Catwoman in the third season of Batman, was born on this day 94 years ago today. Born in Orangeburg County, South Carolina on 17 January 1927, she went on to seek her show business fortune first in New York, then would go on to Hollywood. Her career had its bumps, as evidenced by her visit to the White House in early 1968, which caused her to be blacklisted in the United States for a time.
But she rebounded, and carried on. We lost her on Christmas Day 2008 due to cancer, but we still have her performances, as well as her daughter and grandchildren. Here’s to you, Eartha!!!
