The original Catwoman portrayer turns 86 today
Julie Newmar, who played the Feline Fatale in the 1966 Batman series and the first actress to do so, has a birthday today. Born Julie Newmeyer on 16 August 1933 in Los Angeles, California, she began her acting career in the 1950s and had already worked in such movies as Seven Brides For Seven Brothers and in such television shows as My Living Doll (lead role) and The Twilight Zone when she was cast in her defining role as Catwoman.
